About

In this blog I write about my diseases and pain-management.

my condition: age 40 heart-attack, followed by three smaller attacks, last one march 2009. 2001 Brain insult, followeb by 2 lighter TIA’s, last one 2008. Diabetis Melitus 2, controlled since 2005.

Now, since 8 weeks i have serious health problems with my intestines. After many research it is now believed that I have Crohn’s disease. More research is needed. Coming Friday i will undergo an echo of my abdomen. Later yet another MRI will be made of my small intestines.

The pain. The pain strikes fast. It start with a crampy, blotted feeling in the addomen. Accompanied by noisy airmovement the pains fastly increase in intensity and rythm.

Therapy was started with Paracetamol, Buscopan and Diclofenac. None of them gave any relief and in fact the pain seemed to be worse with the use of Diclophenac.

After a visit to the specialist of the OLVG Hospital I was given Tramadol. The precribed dose seems to be too low.

Instead of 1×50 mg I use 2×50 mg when I feel an attack coming. This means I will have the pain for an hour or so before the tramadol kicks in. Some attack stillĀ  penitrateĀ  through the sedation, but they are more bearable.
